A: Parents, students, and teachers will see your ad frequently throughout the school year. The school has agreed to send the folders home a minimum of at least once per week, all year long, which equates to at least 3,600 times your ad would be seen per year for every 100 students that are enrolled in the school. Most teachers, and especially those with younger students, send the folders home daily, which equates to 18,000 times your ad would be seen per year for every 100 students enrolled (for example, a school of 500 students would equate to your ad being viewed 90,000 times in just one school year).
Q: Where will my ad be located on the folder?
A: Your ad will located in one of two ultra-high visibility spots – either on the back cover or on the inside flap, depending on what ad size you choose.
Q: How much is an ad?
A: The cost is dependent on the size of the ad and the enrollment of the school; schools with very large enrollments and combined district folders representing a large number of students may be incrementally higher than smaller individual schools, but they will reach more parents and students and therefore will present an even better advertising value.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: There are 4 sizes of ads available; Extra Large, Large, Medium, and Small. Search for your school to see a comparison of the ad sizes and their location.
Q: Does it cost extra for a full color ad?
A: There is no extra cost for a full color ad.
Q: How durable are the folders?
A: They are extremely durable, and constructed to meet the rigors of the entire school year. Schools tell us that our folders (and the sponsor’s ads!) look just as good in the spring as they did when they were delivered!
Q: When will the school receive the folders?
A: Folders will be delivered in August for use the entire school year.
Q: I missed getting an ad on this coming year's folders - how can I be sure to get a space on the next year’s folder?
A: Spaces for the next school year's folders are on a first-come basis and are typically available beginning in January. Place your order early to have the best opportunity at getting one of the limited spaces.
Q: This is a great advertising value – can I advertise on other schools in the area?
A: Yes. All schools that are available within the zip code you entered in the search bar are listed. Hint: You can search by other nearby zip codes or city names for schools that are not in your zip code (for example, if you have offices or locations in other areas).
Q: How do I advertise on other area schools that are not currently listed?
A: Schools register with us throughout the year. As soon as they register they will appear on the list of schools that are available. If you are interested in other area schools that aren't currently listed check back periodically to see if it is now on our list.
Q: Can I use a different ad for each school?
A: Yes. Upload an ad for the first school you choose and add that school to the cart, then search for the next school. Each time you select a school it will prompt you to upload an ad. You can upload the same ad that you used for the previous school, or you can upload a different ad that is targeted specifically to that school or community.
Q: What are the size specifications for the ad I submit?
A: Submit a 2” x 3.5” or larger horizontal ad (approximately the size of a business card size) at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Please be careful to have the proportions equal 2” x 3.5” or a portion of your ad will risk being cut off.
Q: What does “dpi” stand for?
A: “dpi” stands for the dots-per-inch that make up a photo or logo (may also be referred to as "ppi" or pixels-per-inch).
Q: Why does it have to be 300 dpi or more?
A: It takes 300 dots-per-inch at the size it’s going to be printed to reproduce in high quality.
Q: My artwork/photo looks okay on my computer screen, but I get an error message that it’s not high enough resolution. Why?
A: Computer screens typically display image files at 72 dots-per-inch. A lower resolution logo or photo may look okay on a screen, but when printed at 300 dpi the image may appear fuzzy.
Q: Do you accept anything other than horizontal ads?
A: No, our format only permits horizontal ads.
Q: Can I just use my business card for my ad?
A: Yes. Simply scan it at a minimum of 300 dpi, save to your computer, and upload.
Q: Can I create an ad just for the folder?
A: Yes, many businesses create an ad for a specific school’s folder. It may even include a special message just for that school (for example, “We support the Tigers!”, “Proud parent of Xxxxx Elementary School”, or “Show us your folder and get free fries with any purchase”). Be sure to create it at 2”x3.5” and a resolution of 300dpi, and save it as a png, jpeg, or PDF file.
*If you don't have an ad, there is a link at the bottom of our home page to a free online app that will let you design one and save it to your computer (you would then upload it to our site when you purchase your ad).
Q: What file format (jpeg, etc.) is acceptable for the ad I submit?
A: You may submit your ad as a jpeg, png, or PDF file.
Q: Can I use a photo or artwork in my ad
A: Yes! Photos and color logos reproduce great.
Q: Do you have suggestions on what makes a good ad?
A: Keep it simple and uncluttered. A logo and/or photo, key phrase, address, phone number and website make great elements. Remember to keep the size of your ad in mind, and don’t make it too cluttered or it will be difficult to read.
